Polyester Filter Cartridges

Filter Description

A manufactured fiber in which the fiber forming substance is any long chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of an ester of a substituted aromatic carboxylic acid, including but not restricted to substituted terephthalate units, and parasubstituted hydroxybenzoate units.

Applications

Chemical compatibility similar to cotton and polypropylene. Has higher temperature than cotton and polypropylene in most liquids.

Effects

Effects of Acids/Alkalis

Good resistance to most mineral acids. Dissolves with partial decomposition in concentrated solutions of sulfuric acids. Good resistance to weak alkalis. Moderate resistance to strong alkalis at boil.

Maximum Temperature

Polypropylene Cores – 200°F/93°C
Tin Plated Steel Cores – 400°F/204°C
304 & 316 Stainless Steel Cores – 750°F/398°C
